Former world No. 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov shared his thoughts on Karen Khachanov`s match in the fourth round of Wimbledon.
“It`s difficult for me to comment on Khachanov`s chances… I haven`t watched his matches in the current tournament. However, if Khachanov is physically robust, his previous two five-set matches shouldn`t detrimentally affect his readiness. At this advanced stage of the tournament, there`s simply no latitude to dwell on physical condition or past matches.”
The two-time Grand Slam champion also assessed Andrey Rublev`s prospects for advancing to the quarterfinals.
“What are Rublev`s chances against Alcaraz? The chances are remote. I won`t point out any particular strengths for Rublev in this specific matchup. And I am not his mentor to offer any advice. As I stated earlier, Alcaraz is the undeniable favorite in this encounter. Let`s estimate the probabilities: 90 to 10 in favor of the Spaniard.”
