Will Alex Ovechkin Break the All-Time Goals Record This Season?

Washington Capitals` star player, Alex Ovechkin, is getting closer to surpassing Wayne Gretzky`s record for the most goals in NHL history. In a recent game against the Winnipeg Jets, Ovechkin scored his 889th career goal.

He now needs only six more goals to equal Gretzky`s record of 894 goals.

Hockey fans are eagerly watching to see if Ovechkin will break the record before the end of the current season. According to statistical projections, there is a 73% chance that Ovechkin will achieve this historic feat this season.

These projections estimate that Ovechkin is most likely to break the record between April 14th and 17th. Specifically, there`s approximately a 15% chance he could break it on April 12th against the Columbus Blue Jackets, around 14% chance on April 13th also against Columbus, and about 14% chance on April 15th against the New York Islanders.

Ovechkin has been performing consistently, scoring three goals in his last five games and a total of six goals in March.

This season, Ovechkin has scored 36 goals and provided 24 assists, aiming for his third 40-goal season in the last four years.

The Washington Capitals are also competing for the top spot in the league. As they aim for the best position in the Eastern Conference playoffs, Ovechkin will have ample opportunities to score in the remaining games of the regular season.
