Honored Coach of Russia Vladimir Kamelzon assessed the addition of two-time Grand Slam tournament winner Marat Safin to Andrey Rublev`s team.
`Everyone is commenting on the new union that has formed between Safin and Rublev. When I learned about it, I immediately said that it is a very good union. Rublev can`t seem to find his best game, his team can`t cope with him. He can`t progress further. He reached the fourth spot once, and then it`s fifth, sixth, seventh, ninth, etc. Rublik can`t get out of this top ten. I think that Marat Safin has every chance to help Rublev show a higher result and be able to defend his good place in the top ten. I think this will be beneficial. Something might come of it, because Safin`s experience and his authority are two components that coincide. Rublev must understand this,` – said Kamelzon.
Safin joined Rublev`s team for the clay season. On Wednesday, April 9, Andrey will play against French player Gael Monfils in the second round of the Masters series tournament in Monte Carlo.
