Virna Jandiroba Eyes Title Fight After Fifth Victory at UFC 314

MMA News

MIAMI – Following her victory over Yan Xiaonan at UFC 314 on Saturday, Virna Jandiroba spoke to the media.

Jandiroba (22-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC), entering as a slight favorite, outperformed Xiaonan (16-5 MMA, 9-4 UFC), a former contender for the women`s strawweight title. She secured a unanimous decision victory on the preliminary card at Kaseya Center.

The Brazilian fighter, now on a five-fight win streak, believes she has earned a title opportunity, especially after this significant win against Xiaonan. This marks her second consecutive win against a former title challenger. She stated her willingness to face champion Zhang Weili or any other contender, as long as a championship is at stake.

“I believe it`s undeniable now,” Jandiroba asserted during the post-fight press conference. “I have defeated five high-caliber opponents consecutively. If it`s Weili, fantastic. I am ready to go anywhere to fight her. However, if Weili is unavailable, I am willing to fight anyone else for the title. A title fight must be next. Let`s make it happen. I want the title.”
