Respected Russian coach Viktor Yanchuk has commented on the victory of Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov, currently ranked No. 27 in the world, over Spanish player Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, ranked No. 30. This quarterfinal match took place at the ATP 500 tournament in Barcelona, Spain, and Khachanov won in straight sets 6-4, 7-5.
“It was a good win, and it`s clear Karen is in good form. He`s becoming more consistent with each match. During today`s match, he had to recover after losing his serve, but he managed to regain balance and didn`t let his opponent get too far ahead. Karen played a very solid match and confirmed his high level,” Yanchuk said in an interview with TASS.
In the semifinal of the ATP 500 Barcelona, Karen Khachanov will face Denmark`s Holger Rune, the world No. 13, who defeated the defending champion Casper Ruud of Norway.
