Toni Nadal, uncle and former coach of 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, has commented on the performance of 19-year-old Alexandra Eala. Eala, currently ranked 140th globally, competed in the Miami Open in the USA.
“I have always believed in this girl,” Nadal stated. “It`s a significant achievement for us because she has been training with us the longest, nearly six years. Throughout this time, neither she nor her family has ever complained.”
He further added, “She is demonstrating her capabilities by defeating the world`s second and fifth-ranked players in a single tournament – that`s truly impressive. Victories against such high-caliber opponents indicate that with a bit more refinement in her game, she has the potential to become one of the best in the world.”
