20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has opened up about his life after retiring from professional tennis.
“I have fully embraced retirement life and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I feel a surge of energy and vitality. My family and I are doing a lot of traveling – something we always dreamed of. We wanted to revisit familiar places and see them in a new light, without the need to train and prepare for matches, as well as discover new horizons.”
“I often joke that I should have retired sooner to fully savor this time, because I am absolutely happy now. Initially, it was a bit challenging to adjust and properly plan my day. But now I feel in control, and it`s wonderful. I want to dedicate more time to my children. My sons are already 11, and my daughters will soon turn 16. This is a perfect opportunity to strengthen family bonds, and we are all getting immense pleasure from it,” Federer shared in an interview.
Federer concluded his professional career in September 2022 at the Laver Cup. His farewell match was a doubles game against Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe, partnering with Rafael Nadal.
