Former world No. 7 Richard Gasquet compared Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Gasquet stated, “Alcaraz definitely has something special, but he doesn`t yet possess the same aura as Federer. This kind of presence develops with age and achievements, it takes time.”
He further elaborated, “Federer and Nadal remain among the biggest stars in sports. Over the last two decades, there have been about ten individuals who could be mentioned in that top tier – including them, Messi, Ronaldo, a few basketball players, and Usain Bolt. Will Alcaraz and Sinner eventually join this group? Certainly, but it will take time. Tennis skill alone isn`t enough; it also involves what you do off the court, your aura, your overall game, your technique… Federer had it all.” Gasquet shared these thoughts on the UTS talk show `Cards on the Table`.
