Patrick Mouratoglou, coach of Naomi Osaka, has once again shared his perspective on the topic of superstars in women`s tennis.
“There`s a real difference between being a top player showing incredible tennis and being a star,” Mouratoglou stated. “I explained that modern women`s tennis lacks superstars. I think currently, there is one superstar in women`s tennis, and that is Coco Gauff. Her aura is stronger than anyone else`s.”
He clarified his previous comments: “I didn`t mean they would never exist. I was saying that there were big superstars in women`s tennis. I`m talking about Serena [Williams], Venus [Williams], Sharapova.”
