Mirra Andreeva on Early Roland Garros Matches: ‘Maybe if it happens again or several times, I’ll ask to be scheduled differently’

Sports News

World number six Mirra Andreeva commented on her victory over Ashlyn Krueger in the second round of the French Open (`Roland Garros`) with a score of 6/3, 6/4.

She noted: “I`m happy that I stayed calm and was able to handle minor difficulties during the match. Yes, there were moments when I showed emotions because I was unhappy with what was happening. But then I managed to recompose myself and continue as if nothing had happened.”

Regarding her schedule, Andreeva said: “I don`t really like playing the first match of the day because I don`t enjoy waking up too early, but so far this schedule is working well for me.”

She added: “I`ve noticed that at Grand Slam tournaments, I`m often scheduled to play first – perhaps it`s related to the fact that I also play doubles. It`s quite possible that if this situation repeats a few more times, I will ask for changes to the schedule. But for now, everything is fine.”
