Mirra Andreeva Dismisses Health Concerns After Miami Loss

Sports News

17-year-old Russian tennis star Mirra Andreeva, currently the top-ranked player in Russia, has addressed speculation regarding her health and physical condition following her third-round defeat to American player Amanda Anisimova at the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami.

Andreeva reassured fans, stating, “Everything is fine now. I wouldn`t attribute my loss solely to health issues. Anisimova played exceptionally well, and while I had opportunities, I didn`t capitalize on them.”

She downplayed concerns about her physical state, which arose after her impressive performances at the Dubai and Indian Wells tournaments. “Naturally, there`s some fatigue, but it`s part of the game. You keep playing, knowing rest will come eventually. I wouldn`t say I`m excessively tired,” Andreeva commented. She is still participating in the Miami Open in doubles.

It was previously reported that Andreeva experienced stomach pain leading up to and during her match with Anisimova, even requiring medical attention during the first set.
