The third-round encounter at the Rome Masters in Italy has concluded with the retirement of Italian player Matteo Berrettini (ranked 30th ATP) against the world No. 7, Casper Ruud of Norway. Berrettini withdrew from the match while trailing Ruud with the score at 7/5, 2/0. The specific reasons behind the Italian`s decision to retire are not yet known.

Advancing to the Round of 16 (1/8 finals) of the Rome tournament, Casper Ruud is scheduled to play against Spanish player Jaume Munar. Munar secured his spot by defeating American Sebastian Korda in straight sets, 6/4, 6/2.
