Former world No. 3 Marin Cilic has shared his thoughts on whether he could potentially continue his professional tennis career until the age of 40.
“Why not?” he mused. “You never truly know what life holds for you, especially when you look at how players like Rafa [Nadal], Roger [Federer], or Andy [Murray] concluded their careers. You might be in excellent physical condition, but the slightest issue can bring everything to an end. It`s impossible to predict when the end will arrive, so I am focused on continuing to enjoy the game and seizing every opportunity that comes my way.”
Cilic also mentioned, “Fortunately, I have a wonderful team and a supportive family who travel with me when they can. I genuinely enjoy competing, even in smaller events, though each week presents a fresh challenge. Everyone on the tour is striving for success, particularly the younger generation, who seem perhaps even more determined now than in previous years.”
