Lois Boisson’s Coach on Her Biathlon Training Ahead of Roland Garros Run

Sports News

French Roland Garros 2025 semifinalist Lois Boisson incorporated biathlon training into her regimen last year. In March 2024, she trained in Grand-Bornand under the guidance of an instructor and her physical trainer, Sébastien Durand.

Durand explained the rationale for this cross-training, highlighting the diverse benefits. He stated:

“Biathlon is a complex sport that helps train muscle tone for power transfer. The cardio aspect is also interesting, particularly the ability of biathletes to quickly reduce their heart rate to restore accuracy. This sport also allows practicing sliding; it`s easy to see the analogy to tennis on a clay court.”

The 22-year-old Boisson, who was ranked world No. 361 during the tournament, made a remarkable run to the Roland Garros 2025 semifinals, where she was ultimately defeated by American Coco Gauff.
