Liverpool confirmed their status as 2024-25 Premier League champions after a dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham at Anfield with four more matches left in the season.
The last time Arne Slot`s squad celebrated with a trophy parade was in 2022, following their successes in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. Having been unable to fully celebrate their 19th league title win in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions, the club is eager to ensure fans can participate fully in the upcoming festivities.
Councillor Liam Robinson, Leader of Liverpool City Council, has formally extended an invitation to the club for a victory parade to commemorate the Premier League triumph, and the club has officially accepted this offer.
When is the Liverpool trophy parade?
Since the actual Premier League trophy will not be officially presented until the final game of the season against Crystal Palace at Anfield on May 25, the celebratory parade will take place after this date. With the following day, May 26, being a bank holiday in the UK, it is highly likely that Liverpool`s open-top bus parade across the city will be held on Monday, May 26, anticipated to begin around 2:30 pm local time.
Liverpool Title Parade Route & Details
Following a route similar to the 2022 trophy parade through key areas of Merseyside, the bus is expected to start on Queen`s Drive, then proceed to Mill Bank, before heading to West Derby, and finally concluding at Blundell Street.
This trajectory was also used during the Champions League victory celebration in 2019 and is expected to remain the same. The parade is projected to last approximately five hours, passing significant city landmarks including Islington, Leeds Street, and The Strand.
Major celebrations are anticipated, marking the club`s first league title success in over three decades, since 1990.
However, for safety reasons, fans are strictly prohibited from bringing pyrotechnics or flares.
How to Watch the Liverpool Trophy Parade
Similar to how the 2022 event was streamed live across Liverpool`s official social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube), the club is likely to provide live coverage of the Premier League title parade once again. This is expected to be available on LFCTV (Sky channel 425 in the UK, or Virgin Media channel 544) or on LFCTV GO.
Who Will Participate in Liverpool`s Parade?
Three open-top buses are scheduled to carry players and staff along the planned nine-mile (15 km) route through the city.
Notably, former Liverpool manager and 2020 Premier League winner Jurgen Klopp will be in the city for the LFC Foundation annual gala dinner on Friday, May 23. While he will be present in Liverpool during the weekend of the celebrations, it is considered unlikely that he will be on the parade bus.
Live music is also expected to be part of the parade, with DJ and Liverpool fan Calvin Harris potentially performing aboard one of the buses.
