Justine Henin, a former world number one and seven-time Grand Slam champion from Belgium, has commented on the defeat of Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz, currently ranked third, at the Miami Masters tournament.
Henin stated, “It`s noticeable that he is going through a period of reflection. He is only 21 years old and has already won four Grand Slam titles, but he still has much to learn to successfully overcome difficult phases.”
She added, “From the beginning of his career, everyone has been talking about the extraordinary tennis that Alcaraz demonstrates. Spectators admire his game and follow his progress with great interest. He is aware of all this attention and the pressure it creates. I am a little concerned about the emergence of Fonseca and the hype around him,” as quoted by We love tennis.
In the second round of the Miami tournament, Carlos Alcaraz was defeated by David Goffin with a score of 7-5, 4-6, 3-6.
