World No. 1 Jannik Sinner discussed the similarities and differences between his playing style and that of Novak Djokovic.
“It`s difficult to say, because I still consider us different players. There are some similarities in how we execute the forehand and backhand. In my opinion, he has significantly improved his serve. For instance, today he was serving incredibly well. I watched his match [against Daniel Evans in the second round of Wimbledon]. Based on his movement, I got the impression that Novak feels much more confident on grass than I do. His movement… That`s partly thanks to experience. He has more experience; he changes pace more often.
Maybe I play a bit faster when attacking. On the other hand, I am quite stable, just like him. There is a certain similarity in that.
I think I`ve taken a lot of information from him, gotten the opportunity to make my game similar, but while keeping my own style. I always try to take something from other players and see how it works. He is definitely my main example; I try to do some things in a similar way,” Sinner said at a press conference.
