World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and his coach Simone Vagnozzi have been recognized with prestigious awards from the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).
CONI President Giovanni Malagò personally presented Sinner with the highest honor, the `Golden Collar for Sporting Merit` (Collare d’Oro al merito sportivo). Vagnozzi received the `Golden Palm for Technical Merit` (Palma d’Oro al merito tecnico).
Commenting on the accolade, Sinner was quoted as saying: “This is certainly one of the most prestigious awards of my career, and it goes beyond my career. The support of the people has given me so much strength over the years, especially during difficult times.
“Last year was not easy, and the best part of it was being able to share the victories with the Italian fans.” The tennis player`s comments were reported by the Italian NOC website.
