Reports have emerged detailing an incident involving the world`s number two tennis player, Iga Swiatek, who was harassed during a training session in Miami, USA. Swiatek is currently in Miami to compete in the WTA 1000 tournament.
According to Polish media sources, the individual involved is a 40-year-old Polish citizen residing in Florida. He is described as a `rude and ill-mannered person, obsessed with a manic dislike for the second-ranked player in the world`.
During the incident, the stalker reportedly urged the tennis star to contact her mother and made offensive remarks about Swiatek`s psychologist.
It is also reported that this same man had previously subjected Swiatek to verbal attacks on social media platform X, using the account DzonnyBravo, which has since been blocked or deleted.
As a result of the harassment, tournament organizers have provided Swiatek with additional security.
