World No. 40 Emma Raducanu shared her thoughts ahead of her third-round match against Aryna Sabalenka at Wimbledon. This upcoming encounter will be the second time the two players have met; their previous match in the third round of Indian Wells in 2024 saw the Belarusian emerge victorious.
“She`s the world No. 1, she dominates the tour and wins literally everything,” Raducanu remarked. “It`s going to be a very tough match for me, but I`m very happy with my performance today.”
She continued, “I can only control what happens on my side of the court as best as possible. You have to play great in matches against opponents like her.”
“I don`t think there will be any pressure on me in the next round (laughs),” Raducanu added during an on-court interview following her second-round victory.
In her second-round match preceding this interview, Emma Raducanu had defeated Marketa Vondrousova.
