World No. 12 Holger Rune has spoken out about his inability to complete his first-round match at the Monte Carlo Masters against Nuno Borges. The Danish player retired from the match due to illness when the score was 2-6, 0-3.

“Illnesses seem to haunt me, it’s unbearable. I couldn`t finish one of my favorite tournaments,” Rune wrote in a social media story.
