Gauff and Sabalenka Share Playful TikTok, Declare ‘Hatchet Buried’ Ahead of Wimbledon

Sports News

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and World No. 2 Coco Gauff were seen together in a lighthearted video filmed before the Wimbledon tournament began. The players filmed a TikTok video after a practice session.

`Buried the hatchet. We`re all good, so it`s time for you to relax too,` Gauff captioned the video shared on social media.

The video comes after previous tension between the two players. Following her loss to Gauff in the recent French Open final (7-6(5), 2-6, 4-6), Sabalenka had commented that the American `simply outran her`. She also controversially suggested that Iga Swiatek, whom Sabalenka defeated in the semi-finals (7-6(1), 4-6, 6-0), would have won the trophy if she had reached the final instead of Gauff. Sabalenka has since publicly apologized for these remarks on multiple occasions in recent weeks, seemingly smoothing over relations ahead of the grass-court major.
