British tennis player Emma Raducanu commented on her upcoming second-round match against Czech Republic`s Marketa Vondrousova.
Vondrousova is the reigning Wimbledon champion from 2023.
“Marketa won the tournament in Berlin and defeated top players on her way to the title. This is going to be a challenging match,” Raducanu stated.
She added, “She`s a Wimbledon champion. Marketa is a formidable player on grass and is generally very well-rounded. I anticipate it will be a truly difficult match, and I will need to perform at a very high level to advance.”
Raducanu also praised Vondrousova`s return from injury: “She underwent wrist surgery, then came back and won Wimbledon. That`s incredible. She is truly very talented. I know Marketa is extremely resilient; maintaining such a high standard after winning Grand Slams is incredibly tough. She`s currently finding her best rhythm,” Raducanu said during her press conference.
