Emma Navarro: Why I Play Without a Cap

Sports News

American tennis player Emma Navarro, currently ranked No. 11 in the world, explained why she prefers to play without headwear like caps or visors.

Navarro stated that she used to wear a visor and then a cap when she was younger, but stopped around the age of 13 or 14 due to tan lines. She explained that her forehead would be very pale while the rest of her face was tanned. She recalled being in middle school at the time and decided she didn`t want to have such a noticeable tan line. Since then, she hasn`t worn any headwear and believes she has become excellent at squinting in the sun.

Navarro made these comments at a press conference during the Charleston tournament.
