Russian world No. 11 Diana Shnaider has achieved a unique feat at WTA 1000 tournaments. She is the first player since 1990 (when the Tier format was introduced) to win two consecutive matches at this level with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 scoreline.
On May 8, at the tournament in Rome, she convincingly defeated American tennis player Caroline Dolehide in the second round. Previously, on April 26, at another prestigious clay-court WTA 1000 event, Shnaider secured an equally dominant victory over Latvia`s Anastasia Sevastova in the third round.
In the third round of the competition in Rome, Shnaider is scheduled to play against Romanian athlete Jaqueline Cristian, the world No. 74, who in her match overcame Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan with a score of 7-6(2), 7-5.
