World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz, a four-time Grand Slam champion from Spain, discussed his journey to the semi-finals of the ATP 500 clay tournament in Barcelona, Spain. In the quarter-finals, Alcaraz overcame seventh-ranked Alex de Minaur of Australia with a score of 7-5, 6-3.
“I had a difficult start on my serve, experiencing some mental challenges,” Alcaraz admitted. “But I think I managed to improve my game. I calmed myself down and started thinking positively again. Alex started very strong, playing aggressively, making the first set really tough,” the ATP press service quoted Alcaraz.
It is worth mentioning that the 21-year-old Alcaraz is a two-time former champion in Barcelona, having won the ATP 500 title in both 2022 and 2023.
