Amélie Mauresmo on Prize Money Discussions

Sports News

Roland Garros Tournament Director Amélie Mauresmo has voiced her support for the ongoing discussions regarding prize money at the Grand Slams.

This follows a previous letter sent by representatives of the ATP and WTA tours to the Grand Slam organizers, formally requesting an increase in prize funds.

“I am very pleased that a direct dialogue has finally begun,” Mauresmo stated during a press conference after the tournament. “I say this from the perspective of a former player. There are no intermediaries involved who might have interests different from the players themselves.”

She added, “I believe that when there is open communication, things can develop positively for all parties involved. Once the actual figures are put forward, I am confident the process will move in the necessary direction.”

“The main goal is for everything to proceed correctly and to be beneficial for everyone.”
