World No. 140, Alexandra Eala, shared her overwhelming emotions following her victory over Iga Swiatek in the Miami Open quarter-finals. The Filipina player defeated Swiatek with sets 2-6, 5-7, marking her first ever entry into the semi-finals of a Masters 1000 tournament.

In her on-court interview, Eala responded to the question about beating three Grand Slam champions in Miami, saying, “I don`t even know what to say. I`m just in disbelief and over the moon right now. Thank you to everyone who came to watch and everyone watching at home.”

Reflecting on a photo taken at her graduation from the Rafael Nadal Academy with Swiatek, and whether she ever dreamed of beating her at such a prestigious event, Eala commented, “It`s surreal. I feel like I`m still the same person in that photo. I`m just so happy and blessed that I`m able to compete with such a player at this level.”

Iga Swiatek was defeated by the world No. 140 in the Miami quarter-final.
