Oscar Piastri has taken the lead in the driver`s championship standings for the first time in his career after achieving his third victory of the season at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Sunday.
The Formula 1 season will continue with round six at the Miami Grand Prix on May 4th.
Race Highlights:
- Safety car was deployed on Lap 1 after Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda collided, forcing both drivers to retire from the race.
- Max Verstappen received a five-second penalty for gaining an advantage by leaving the track during a battle with Piastri in the first corner.
- After the second pit stops, Verstappen emerged behind Piastri in fifth place due to serving his penalty.
- Piastri took the lead after the second pit stops, while Lando Norris recovered to fifth place from second after his pit stop, having started in 10th due to a qualifying crash.
- Piastri won the race, followed by Verstappen and Charles Leclerc on the podium.
