Sports News

Federico Cina, the 17-year-old tennis talent, shared his thoughts on competing as a wild card entry at the Miami Masters. He faced Grigor Dimitrov in the second round, where he was defeated in straight sets 1-6, 4-6.

“It’s incredible because I’ve always watched [top players] on television. I’ve never seen them live before. This is so cool, and I’m enjoying every moment here,” Cina stated, reflecting on the experience of playing at such a prestigious tournament.

When asked about his tennis role model, Cina didn`t hesitate: “Djokovic is my idol. The way he plays is unmatched for me.”

Prior to Miami, Cina achieved a significant milestone last week by reaching his first Challenger final in Heraklion, where he triumphed over Aslan Karatsev.

“It was my first Challenger final. I played great, and it gave me a lot of confidence. I also learned a lot, which is wonderful,” Cina said, as quoted by the official ATP website.
